CranioSacral Therapy

CST is a subtle technique that works with the craniosacral system to help alleviate a wide array of pain,
illness and dysfunction.  The craniosacral system consists of the cerebrospinal fluid and the membranes that
surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.  Restrictions caused by trauma or inflammation can decrease
the efficiency of your body’s own natural healing and other processes.  This technique is performed with a
client fully clothed on the massage table using very light pressure that is designed to uncover and resolve any
adhesions to allow your body to function normally.

        Visceral Manipulation

Visceral Manipulation (VM) involves working gently with the organs of your body to free up restrictions that

may be inhibiting their normal movement within the abdominal and thoracic cavities.  Think about how your

organs are tightly packed into those cavities.  Your heart must beat, your lungs must expand and contract,

your intestines must be able to move with digestion as well as expand and contract, your stomach must be

able to expand and contract with your meals.  Even the smallest restriction from a past infection or a larger

restriction from abdominal surgery can not only affect how those organs function, but they can also pull on the

tissues throughout your whole body.  Visceral Manipulation can help gently relieve those restrictions to help

better nutrient absorption, general movement, abdominal/visceral (organ) pain and dysfunction, and pain

      throughout the body.

        Deep Tissue / Trigger Point

Deep Tissue Massage and Trigger Point Therapy are more intense, but are provided within the client‘s
comfort level.  Hot stones are usually added for increased comfort for the client.  If a muscle has been injured
(actual injury, overuse, under-use, etc), the body keeps the two parts of the muscle being healed close
together.  This process makes you hold your body in different positions to avoid pain.  This is why you may
not feel discomfort for many years after you first hurt yourself and after an accumulation of many injuries.

Deep Tissue is used to access deeper muscles, break up scar tissue and to separate muscles that have
become "glued together," to allow your body to move naturally.  This technique is favored by athletes to
obtain peak performance or other people who seek more relief than Swedish Massage can provide.  It
includes deep muscle work as well as joint mobilization and stretching.

If a hypersensitive area within the muscle is created, Trigger Point Therapy can be used.  By calling your
body's attention to the area, increasing blood flow and breaking up the adhesion, the body is allowed to
return to its normal resting state, with great relief for the client.

Thai Massage (also called Thai Yoga Massage)

Massage is one of the four branches of Thailand’s medical system.  It focuses on energy channels that run
through the body.  Wind (breath) is very important in Thai Massage as it sets all the other aspects of the body
    in motion.

Due to space restrictions, this technique involves the recipient lying fully clothed on the massage table.  The
therapist applies compression while providing deep stretching and joint mobilization while the client
concentrates on breathing deeply.  The result is a feeling of complete relaxation, increased mobility and
    flexibility, yet completely revitalized.
